This custom honeycomb shelving unit design will be comprised of 26 hexagons and 5 trapezoid support/display shelves, configured as shown in the sketch above.  The structure will include matching solid red oak hardwood back panels, inset within all hexagons and trapezoids, for structural reinforcement to support the extra heavy weight of the many dumbbells to be stored within the unit.

solid red oak hardwood with AFM Safecoat Naturals clear non-toxic oil/wax finish (as shown in images 2 & 3 above)
 
7/8" lumber thickness along the outer perimeter of the honeycomb unit, with doubled thickness of 1.75" throughout the unit's interior in which all adjacent hexagon panels are joined together.

* Width of usable storage space increases upward within the lower half of hexagon to approx. 15" in between the left and right hex corners, and decreases back to 9" wide inside the top of the hexagon.   
 
D E T A I L S
 
This design will need to be divided into four sections for manageable maneuvering during loading/unloading and to fit into cargo space for transport.  The sections are reconnected through the pre-drilled holes using the provided screws and matching drill bit.
